Estevan resident Gurjeet Bilkhu captured three silver medals at the recent GTF International Takewon-Do Champion-ships in Orlando, Florida.

A member of both the Celis Taekwon-Do Academy and the Canadian national team, Bilkhu also helped Canada place first in the team competition at the championships which were held from July 16-23.

Bilkhu, who is a first degree black belt, captured his medals in both the mens' black belt sparring and individual black belt competitions.

An assistant instructor with the Celis Academy, Bilkhu has been training for nine years under the guidance of Washington Celis, a sixth degree black belt  and head coach of the victorious Canadian team.

Bilkhu will now take a short break and then resume his training to get ready for competitions in Regina, Ottawa and the world championships which are scheduled for 2004 in Russia.
